Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT TIME SHOULD WE ARRIVE?

  • Sunday Morning  services are at 9:00 and 11:00 am.  We recommend coming a few minutes early to check in your kids and get them their classroom before service begins. This helps acclimate them to the new environment before their worship begins.
    • Check in Opens at 8:30 and 10:30am
    • Classroom doors open at 8:45am and 10:45am
  • AWANA: 6:00pm
    • Check in Opens at 5:30pm
(The screen above check in will have class closures posted if we aren't able to open a classroom. You are always welcome to step-in and serve with us. Just ask!)

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

No, come as you are! Dress the kids up or bring them in their jammies....just come!

DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER MY KIDS?

For Sunday Morning, you don't need to pre-register. When you enter through the main entrance, you'll see the kid's area immediately to the right. Come to the guest check-in! Our team will help you complete registration and walk you to their classrooms. Where you drop off is where you'll pick up!

If you want to fill out the registration form in advance, a pdf copy is linked here for your convenience.
If you have a child has special needs or would benefit from extra support, learn more about how we can help through our Limitless Kids program.

WHAT AGE GROUPS DO YOU OFFER?

Sunday Morning classes:
Nursery:
  • Infants/crawlers
  • Walkers
  • 2 yr olds
Preschool:
  • 3 yr olds
  • 4 yr olds
Elementary:
  • Kindergarten-2nd grade
  • 3rd grade-5th grade
Each age group has their own classroom. The room you drop them off in, is the same room you'll pick them up from.

WHAT ARE YOUR SAFETY & SECURITY PROCEDURES?

This is a top priority for our kids area.  Security measures include:
  • Vetted Volunteers - All volunteers complete required trainings and fill out a series of forms. All volunteers of 16-years and older complete required background checks regularly.
  • Parent/child pick-up tags are printed for each service.
  • Secure Areas - Access to all kids areas are closed and locked during services. Parents/guardians are able to check on their kids anytime but must show the security tag provided at check-in to be granted access.
  • Working security cameras are strategically placed to provide an extra measure of security for kids and volunteers.
  • Security Team - ChangePoint has a dedicated group of volunteers that provides security to our building during services.

If we need to call you out of service for any reason, we'll text you. Keep your phone handy!

WHAT DO YOU TEACH THE KIDS ON SUNDAY?

The Gospel. It all comes down to the Good news found in Jesus Christ, but we know we only get them for one hour out of 168 hours a week! Here's how we use that time:

In nursery and preschool, we help our kids understand that:
  • God Made them.
  • God Loves them
  • Jesus wants to be with them forever.

In Elementary,  it's about:
  • Making wiser choices
  • Building stronger relationships
  • Developing a deeper faith

WHAT RESOURCES DO YOU HAVE FOR FAMILIES?

Here are a few:
1. Fun Incentives for Kids
In elementary we want our kids to hang out with God. So if they memorize the weekly Bible verse, do service projects, complete their weekly devotional, or invite friends to church, they earn "Mountain Bucks" that they save up.  On the last Sunday of the month we have the AdventureLand Store for kids to shop from.

2. Weekly Devotionals for kids
Noone can operate on an empty tank, and it's the same with God's Word. Digging deeper into God's Word is something we should all do, every day, so we have a weekly devotional sheet that kids can take home after church and complete and return the next Sunday!

3. Hyfi at Home
Hyfi is the curriculum that we use for all ages. You have access to all of the digital content we used on Sundays and additional at home resources that go right along with the Bible Story they hear each week.  Access it here!

3. Parent Cue App
This is a free app (download in the Apple or Google Play store), that can be personalized per child. It provides ideas for you to use at home, as we live out Deuteronomy 6!

4.  RightNow Media
This is a free resource for parents. We think of it as Christian Netflix, as well as a library of books and Bible studies for the WHOLE FAMILY! Email CPkids@changepointalaska.com for your code for a free account!

5. Workshops
We offer child dedication, baptism, discipleship classes (for kids), as well as parenting classes throughout the year!
