Life in Christ must be enjoyed and experienced together. As a local church, we are a spiritual family. To be a healthy church family, every member must be a minister—there can be no “observers” or “consumers,” but only Christian brothers and sisters who help each other win spiritually. We do not grow as God intends unless we commit ourselves to mutually dependent relationships. In other words, we need each other, and we need to be able to count on one another! (1 Cor. 12:12–18)

Our Vision: Life in Christ for every Alaskan and the world beyond. (John 10:10)
Our Mission: To live as a community intentionally focused on cultivating the life of Christ in others.
Our Mission: To live as a community intentionally focused on cultivating the life of Christ in others.

We ENJOY God together as we WORSHIP God in spirit and in truth and BELONG to each other in transformational relationships.
We are being TRANSFORMED by God together as we FOLLOW Jesus and PARTNER with others in our spiritual journey.
We DEMONSTRATE the heart of Jesus Christ together as we INVEST ourselves fully in God’s work of redemption and SHARE the Gospel through our personal story.

ChangePoint is a community of people learning who God is and how we can follow Jesus together. We are students of the Bible and as students we grow and mature over time. Therefore, we do not expect everyone in our community to think alike or to believe alike. In fact, we value diversity of thought and application. There are, however, fundamental truths from God’s Word to which we hold fast to protect our unity and direct our journey together.
Nature of God: There is but one living and true God, one in essence, eternally existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each possesses the same nature, but functions differently. (Deu. 6:4; Isa. 45:5; Mat. 28:19; John 4:24; 2 Cor. 13:14)
The Father: The first person of the Trinity orders all things according to His pleasure, graciously involves Himself in human affairs, answers prayer, and saves all who come to Him through Christ. (Psa. 139:1–16; 1 Cor. 8:6; John 5:17)
The Son: Jesus Christ is both eternal Son of God and virgin-born Son of man, fully God and fully man. His sinless life and sacrificial death satisfied God’s justice concerning sin. He rose bodily, ascended, and will return to establish His kingdom. (John 1:1–2; Luke 1:35; Rom. 3:24–25; 1 Pet. 1:3–5)
The Holy Spirit: The third person of the Trinity indwells believers at conversion, convicts of sin, empowers obedience to Jesus, and enables service to others. (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12–14; Eph. 1:13–14; Gal. 5:22–25)
Bible: The Scriptures are inspired by God, error-free in the original manuscripts, and the supreme authority for life. (Psa. 19; 1 Thes. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16–17; Heb. 1:1–2; 4:12; 2 Pet. 1:20–21)
Humanity: Created in God’s image to enjoy His fellowship and do His will, but fallen through sin, all are spiritually dead apart from Christ and born with a sinful nature. (Gen. 1:25–27; Rom. 3:22–23; 5:12–21; Eph. 2:1–3, 12)
Salvation: Christ’s death alone is sufficient to atone for sin. All who by faith embrace the death of Christ as their only spiritual justification are declared righteous on the basis of his sacrifice and receive both forgiveness and eternal life. Christ’s resurrection affirms God’s acceptance of His work. The Holy Spirit seals believers at salvation, making them God’s children forever. (John 10:27–30; Rom. 8:1, 38–39; Phi. 1:6; Eph. 2:8–10; Tit. 2:11–14)
Church: All believers belong to the one body of Christ, the invisible church. Locally, believers gather to serve and express Christ’s grace. Each member is gifted and necessary for the church’s mission. Elders lead as shepherds and guardians of doctrine and purity. (Eph. 1:3–10, 22–23; Heb. 11:1–12:1; Mat. 28:16–20; Acts 1:7–8; Rev. 21:1–27; 1 Pet. 5:1–4; 1 Tim. 3:1–7; Tit. 1:5–16; Heb. 13:7–8, 17)
Dignity of All Persons: Humans are unique in creation and made in the image of God. Scripture commands that every person deserves dignity, respect, compassion, love, and kindness independent of their ideas or behavior. We condemn actions or attitudes that do not honor others as image-bearers of God. (Gen. 1:26-27; Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31; John 13:34-35; Gal. 3:26-28)
Human Sexuality: God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, and these two complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God and are equal in importance. God’s revealed will for all people is sexual chastity outside of marriage and fidelity within marriage. (Gen. 1:26-27; Mat. 5:27-28, 15:18-20; Rom. 1:24-27; 1 Cor. 6:9-10, 18-20, 11:11-12; Heb. 13:4)
Marriage: God has designed marriage to be a covenantal, life-long union of one man and one woman as husband and wife and is meant to signify the covenant love between Christ and his bride the church. God calls certain people to seasonal or lifelong singleness and has unique purposes and blessings in those callings. (Gen. 2:18-25; Mal. 2:16; 1 Cor. 7:2-5, 8-9, 32-35; Eph. 5:21-23)
Sanctity of Human Life: Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. (Psa. 139:13-16; Prov. 16:31; Isaiah 44:2, 24; Jer. 1:4-5,22:3; Matt. 5:21-22; Luke 1:41; Jam. 1:27).)
Future: The next great event is Christ’s personal return to redeem creation fully and judge unrighteousness. The time is unknown but certain. (Zech. 14:4–11; 1 Thess. 4:13–18; Rev. 20:6)
Human Destiny: Ultimately, there will be physical resurrection of both righteous and unrighteous—the righteous to eternal fellowship with God, the unrighteous to eternal punishment and separation from Him. (Mark 9:43-48; Rev. 20:15; 22:3-5, 11)
