Each year at Christmas, ChangePoint takes a special offering for the purpose of taking life in Christ to people outside our current church family.

Since 2008, ChangePoint Alaska has given away almost $2 million through the Uncommon Gift Offering.

Meet this year's recipient: Love Alaska

Love Alaska is a nonprofit organization that exists to see people mobilized for the good of our communities, and the good of our state. They have received accolades from the FBI and Homeland Security for the work they have been able to accomplish.

Their vision for Refuge Coffee is to provide a space where the community can gather, where your daily drink goes to support social good and where skills are learned so individuals can develop and build healthier futures.

This year's Uncommon Gift Offering will go towards launching Refuge Coffee and providing hope in the community and in the lives of survivors.

A letter from Homeland Security; received November 2024

On behalf of Homeland Security Investigations Pacific Northwest Victim Assistance Program, I am honored to express our gratitude and support for Love Alaska, a 501(c) nonprofit organization, in recognition of your organizations exceptional contributions and steadfast collaboration with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to combat human trafficking. Your organizations commitment to a trauma-informed and victim-centered approach has been indispensable to our shared mission of assisting survivors and disrupting trafficking networks.

Love Alaska’s partnership with HSI has proven to be a cornerstone in providing compassionate, comprehensive support to trafficking victims. By working closely with HSI, the crucial services you provide allow survivors to begin the process of recovery in a safe and supportive environment. Love Alaska’s dedication to understanding and addressing the complex needs of victims, many of whom have endured severe trauma has been instrumental in strengthening the community’s ability to support these individuals and help them reclaim their lives.

Additionally, Love Alaska’s approach aligns seamlessly with HSI’s objective of pursuing justice through a victim-centered methodology, which not only aids in providing essential care for survivors but also enhances the quality and efficacy of investigations. By supporting victims throughout these complex investigations, Love Alaska has helped HSI operations approach cases with heightened sensitivity, allowing for more meaningful interactions and greater trust between survivors and law enforcement professionals.

The dedication and resilience Love Alaska demonstrates in this challenging field of work is an inspiration to all of us involved in combating human trafficking. The services provide is a vital bridge between survivors and the path to healing, and we strongly support their continued role in this essential work. We look forward to our continued partnership with Love Alaska and the positive impact it will bring to victims and our broader community.
