DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. How do you spell "relief?" What do you turn to when you're stressed-out, confused, or discouraged? How does that activity bring relief to your life?
2. Read Matthew 1:2-16 in three sections (Abraham to David 1:2-6a; David to Jeconiah 1:6b-11; and Jeconiah to Jesus 1:12-16). How did the people listed in each historical section seek to find relief? Follow the cross-reference in your Bible and look at their individual stories. How did things go for them?
3. From what you've learned from their stories, articulate a principle for dealing with the uncertainties and unwelcome challenges in our own lives. Can you apply that principle to an issue that is current for you?
