DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. Have you been water baptized since you surrendered to the grace of Jesus? If not, why not? If so, describe that experience. What does your baptism mean to you?
2. Baptism is a public declaration. Look at Jesus' baptism in Matthew 3:13-17 and list all the different messages that were "being publicly declared." What statements are being made and who is making them? Look at Acts 19:1-7. What is the primary difference between John's baptism (the baptism Jesus experienced in Matthew 3) and Christian baptism?
3. If John's baptism was a "statement of repentance," why was it important to Jesus since he had nothing to repent of? What implications does that have for our own lives?
